The Kurzweil 1000 is an advanced PC-based reading tool that converts
the printed word into speech for people who are blind or visually
impaired. The Kurzweil 1000 has the ability to find key words or
phrases within a document. It is also capable of the magnification
of scanned documents in order to accommodate users with visual
impairments. In addition, the Kurzweil 1000 has the ability to
