With Kurzweil 3000 V8, the user can scan any printed material (text and images from textbooks, tests, papers, etc.) and have it read back to them at a speed comfortable for them, while at the same time, seeing each spoken word highlighted on the screen. The user receives both visual and auditory stimulus which helps to improve reading skills and comprehension. With the Kurzweil 3000, the user can even read text files from other sources, including sites on the web.
