· The
Career Center staff welcomes the opportunity to speak to your classes.
We are available to speak to your classes on the following topics:
Overview of the Services provided by the Career Center;
Selecting a Career Path; Writing an Effective Resume; Interviewing
Skills; Successfully Completing the Job Search Process;
and Identifying Work Skills, Interests, and Personality Traits. We
also customize workshops to meet your needs. Examples
include: The Changing World of Work; Job Search Skills for Artists;
and What to do with a Major in Math/English/Biology, etc.
· If
you are going to be absent from class to attend a conference or for
any reason, a counselor will be happy to prepare an
appropriate topic to present to your class.
A
minimum of three weeks advance notice is required
· Bring
your class to the Career Planning Center and expose them to possible
career paths and applications of what you teach.
Studies show that students who have a career goal and who identify a
real-life application for their studies, are more likely to
stay and do well in college.
