CG 1 Career Planning (1 unit, Not degree applicable) 9 weeks. No prerequisite
This course is disigned to help the student approach career decsions in a systematic way.  A variety
of techniques are used to assess individual characteristics and relate these to occupational information.
At times, sections may be offered which emphasize particular types of situations such as persons making
initial career decisions, mid-life career changes, and minority groups.

CG 200 Success in College & Career (3 units) No prerequisite
This course will provide studens with knowledge, information, and skills to better understand themselves
as students, people, and members of the working world.  It will assist the to establish life, carer, education,
and personal goals and to develop plans and strategies to successfully meet those goals.  Transfer Creditz: CSU

How do I register for a career counseling class?
The same way you would register for any other class on campus. Submit an application to admission and register
 via phone or online.

How would I benefit if I enrolled in a career-counseling course?

  • Become acquainted with concepts of career planning, offering a systematic approach to life long career
    decision making.

  • Identify and evaluate your interests, skills, values, and lifestyle preferences and relate them to educational
    and career
    planning.

  • Learn about resources and information that can be utilized in career decision making and goal setting when
    exploring academicand career options.

  • Develop decision-making skills and a plan for reaching self determined goals.

  • Learn basic job search skills and strategies.

  • Begin to take an active role in the career planning process.
