Latina Leadership Network (5) for $500 each

  •   Must be of Latina heritage (one parent fully Latino or each parent half Latino)

  •  24 units of college work (may include work in-progress)

  •  Earned a 2.0 minimum GPA

  •  Currently enrolled in a California Community College

  •  Must provide a transcript of all work completed (unofficial will be accepted)

  •  Must be of Hispanic heritage (one parent full Hispanic or each parent half Hispanic)

  •  Must be a part-time or full-time community college student

  •  Have plans to transfer and enroll full-time at a four-year accredited U.S. institution

  • Currently be a Cerritos College student

  • Must be pursuing a career in a business related field

  • Demonstrate financial need

  • Use the scholarship to help cover the costs of education

  • Must have a cumulative 2.8 GPA or better in college work with transcripts verifying such

  • Applications are available in the Financial Aid Office.  

South Coast Higher Education Council (SCHEC)
Title IV Institutional Code - 001161 

  • Must be currently enrolled in a SCHEC* community college, and planning to transfer to another
     SCHEC* four-year college/university or professional school during the upcoming year.

  • Must have an overall cumulative GPA of 2.5

Coca-Cola Two-Year Colleges Scholarship Program (2) $1,000 each.
Title IV Institutional Code - 001161
 

  • Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

  • Have a minimum 2.5 GPA at the time of application 

  • Be able to document a minimum 100 hours of community service in the twelve months prior to application

  • Be planning to enroll in at least two courses during the Fall 2006

  • May not be children of Coca-Cola employees

  • Cerritos College can nominate two students for the scholarship.  If you meet the above criteria, please pick up
     an application from the Financial Aid Office. 

Deadline: May 19, 2007

 

Stanley Behrens Foundation - $5,000
Title IV Institutional Code - 001161 

  • Have completed at least 60 units of credit with a 3.5 GPA

  • Have a family income that can not exceed $90,000 annually

  • Be highly motivated to succeed and be involved in charity or community affairs

  • Plan to attend UC Irvine for the upcoming year

  • While attending UCI, must donate 90 hours each school year helping charity of her/his choice, maintain a 3.0 GPA, work no more than
    12-15 hours per week during school, attend a comprehensive career counseling session in the field of interest after the first school year
    at UCI, and meet with Foundation mentors 3-4 times per year to obtain assistance in assessing progress and meeting goals.

  • If the student meets the goals in the first year, the scholarship will be renewed the next year.  The Foundation at the end of each
    school year will review the students records and approve or deny the grant for each succeeding year for a total of 2 years.

Final selection will be made by the end of April.  Deadline is March 15. 2006

Lakewood Regional Medical Center Scholarship - $1,000
Title IV Institutional Code - 001161

  • Must have a permanent residence in the following areas served by Lakewood Regional Medical Center including Lakewood, Bellflower,
    Paramount, Downey, Compton, Signal Hill, Artesia, Cerritos, Hawaiian Gardens, Norwalk, Seal Beach, and Long Beach.

  • Must be enrolled or accepted in an accredited school of medicine, pharmacy, nursing, or health related field of study such as nutrition,
    physical therapy, radiology, or respiratory therapy

  •     Be undergraduate student majoring in accounting

  •     Have a "B" or better overall grade point average

  •     Be a U.S. or Canadian citizen

USA Funds Access to Education Scholarships  $750 to $1,500 each

  •      Have an annual adjusted gross family income of $35,000 or less

  •      Not currently in default on any student loans

  •      Plan to enroll for the upcoming 2006/07 academic year in at least 6 units

Whittier Retired Teachers Association - (2) $1,000 each

  • Must enroll as an upper-division student in an accredited institution of higher learning on a full-time basis in the Fall.
