My name is Kristina Farah Garcia, and I am pleased to make your acquaintance! I have been working in the field of early education for the past twelve years, having worked with a variety of Reggio Emilia-Inspired and social-constructivist based schools from West Los Angeles to Irvine with children from infancy to fifth grade. I began working here at Cerritos College Child Development Center in Fall 2016, and have really enjoyed building relationships with the children and their families here at the Center! I received my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Pacific Oaks College in 2020. I live in Long Beach, California, with my husband Gerrod, my sons Isaac and Milo, and our cat Billy. In our spare time, we enjoy camping, working on creative projects (drawing, painting, music), and playing games together.

Something that I’ve always found amazing about working with young children is how children’s play, conversations, and creative expressions can be such a powerful force for learning. Observing these things and reflecting together with others is a critical part of creating a rich and developmentally-appropriate curriculum, and this is something I enjoy doing everyday as I work alongside with the children and their families.
