Prepare for your new computer & help expedite the installation process
Information Technology coordinates the delivery and installation of new HP computers. Macintosh and other computer peripherals are delivered to you and coordinated by the Purchasing Department. Please contact the helpdesk@cerritos.edu for installation and setup.
| Please review the following information to help you prepare for your new computer |
| 1. Backup your data to the campus network. This is your Z drive. |
| 2. Clear the space around your existing computer. |
| 3. Please submit this form to request the installation of special software. If you have possession of the software, please have it available. Reminder...all software must be licensed to the District prior to being installed, so please have your licenses available too. |
| 4. The computers should be installed upon arrival to your area. If a computer has been delivered to your area and has not been setup, please contact the Help Desk x2166. This is not supposed to occur. Please do not install the equipment on your own. |
| 5. You must login to your computer with your own user ID for your E-mail to be customized. The most common problem with email is address book related. This information is specific to your personal profile and/or computer. This can be frustrating if your office hours are infrequent and you need assistance. Depending on the old version of Outlook that you used on your old computer, this may take extra work to move your information forward. Please help us work with you. |
| 6. Information Technology will be working with your manager for the distribution or surplus of all old computer equipment. This equipment will be relocated ASAP; please do not move or distribute this old equipment. |
