PeopleSoft DEV Environment Rebuild & Patch

 

  1. Give access to SA801PRD to Mike W., Genelle, & Nancy
  2. Give Mike W. & Ayman read/write access to SQL
  3. Copy setup & control tables from SA801TST to SA801PRD (excluding FA)
  4. Copy setup & control tables from HR801TST to SA801PRD (TARS & LARS)
  5. Manually set up/tweak tables in SA801PRD
  6. Backup of DMO to DVD (Mike S. will keep)
  7. Setup SA801TST for HR801TST (TARS security & add HR users)
  8. Do not delete HRTST (this will be used for TARS training w/ no patches)
  9. Wait for SA801PRD setup to be complete
  10. Copy SA801PRD to QA (new database)
  11. Setup QA security from SA801TST
  12. Ayman will run approved conversion in QA
  13. Apply patches in QA
  14. Upgrade PeopleTools to 8.2 (Web Logic SP)
  15. Test in QA until satisfied with patches
  16. Programmers prepare and complete their projects in SA801DEV for move
  17. Backup SA801DEV & SA801TST
  18. Restore SA801DEV to Temporary database (TEMPDEV) - eventually delete
  19. Restore SA801TST to Temporary database (TEMPTST) - eventually delete
  20. Backup security in SA801DEV, SA801TST and SA801CNV < Do not backup security in SA801CNV
  21. Clean up QA data before cloning
  22. Clone QA to SA801DEV, SA801TST, and SA801CNV (there will only be one TST) < Do not clone QA to SA801CNV
  23. Apply Security to SA801DEV, SA801TST, and SA801CNV < Do not apply security to SA801CNV
  24. Programmers to move their projects from TEMPDEV to SA801DEV – add ODBC connection on programmers’ workstations to connect via 2-tier
  25. Apply PeopleTools 8.20 to QA, DMO, AND SYS on PSDEVAPP2
  26. Test QA with PeopleTools 8.20 – Quick overview of functional testing
  27. Wait for approval to delete databases TEMPDEV & TEMPTST
  28. Wait for sign-off & apply patches to SA801PRD
  29. Clone SA801PRD to SA801CNV
  30. Apply security to SA801CNV
  31. Wait for testing on PeopleTools 8.20 on QA
  32. Apply PeopleTools 8.20 on every instance of Development: SA801DEV, SA801TST, SA801CNV, and (HR801TST – with PeopleTools 8.19)
  33. Apply PeopleTools to SA801PRD
  34. Wait for sign-off of final SA801TST to clone SA801TRN
