- Women's Track: Falcons Win Fourth SoCal Championship in Last Five Years

In winning their fourth Southern California Championship in the last five years, the Cerritos College women's track and field team broke a pair of school record at Antelope Valley College on Saturday. The Falcons, who are also the defending CCCAA State Champions, compiled 161 team points, with their closest competition coming from Riverside City College... - 18th Annual Senior Preview Day for High School Seniors
Cerritos College held its 18th annual Senior Preview Day on April 29. More than 1,000 high school seniors and counselors attended the one-day open house event from nearly 40 high schools from the greater Los Angeles area. “We are always excited to showcase our campus to high school seniors and counselors through Senior Preview Day, which is now in its 18th year,” said Shirley Arceo, coordinator of school relations who... - Commencement Coming on May 20: CA State Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon to Serve as Speaker
Cerritos College will hold its 59th annual commencement ceremony to honor its graduating students on Friday, May 20 at 6 p.m. in Falcon Stadium. The College will present associate degrees and skills certificates earned during the 2015-2016 academic year. Students graduating and transferring will be transitioning to some of the nation’s top colleges and universities, including UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC Santa Barbara... - Six Students Win Soroptimist Live Your Dream Awards
Six Cerritos College students recently received Live Your Dream Awards presented by Soroptimist International of Artesia-Cerritos. First place winner Christina Lizarraga received a $1,500 cash award, a two-night stay at a Big Bear lake-front resort, and mentoring in her career goal of criminal justice. - Women's History Month Essay Contest Winners Presented with Scholarships
Winners of the Women's History Month Essay Contest were honored at a recent Board of Trustees meeting. Shivani Parmar won first place for her essay, The Gulabi Gang. Justin Carl Torres took second place for his essay Crossing the Boundary of One’s Potential: The Result of Discrimination. Richard V. Melendez placed third for his essay The Green Skai. - Financial Aid Wins Food Drive Contest Again
The Food Drive Contest was a great success. Financial Aid won the contest for the third time in a row, collecting 1,071 food items. Disabled Student Programs and Services came in second with 412 food items. With a total of 3,076 food items collected, the College can feed nearly 200 students. “What a wonderful thing for our students who are in need,” said Health, Fitness/Wellness Professor Carrie Edwards... - Foster Care Awareness Events Educate Campus
The Foster Youth: Supporting Educational Success Training presentation educated faculty and staff about the foster care system, educational barriers foster youth face, how to support foster youth in the classroom and beyond, and services the LINC program offers to current and former foster youth students. - Emergency Response Drill Schedule for June 3
On Friday, June 3, the campus will participate in an active shooter response training with Campus Police, the Norwalk Sheriff Station, L.A. County Fire Department and other law enforcement agencies. There will be a large number of police personnel on and around campus, and the possible use of L.A. County Sheriff helicopters over the College. - Woodworking Students to Host the Tenth Annual Woodworking Celebration
The Cerritos Student Association of Woodworkers (CSAW) is hosting its annual Woodworking Celebration on Saturday, May 21.
