18th Annual Senior Preview Day for High School Seniors

Students at Senior Preview DayCerritos College held its 18th annual Senior Preview Day on April 29. More than 1,000 high school seniors and counselors attended the one-day open house event from nearly 40 high schools from the greater Los Angeles area.

“We are always excited to showcase our campus to high school seniors and counselors through Senior Preview Day, which is now in its 18th year,” said Shirley Arceo, coordinator of school relations who orchestrates the event.

Activities began with a welcome rally in the gymnasium followed by more than 60 exhibit booths in Falcon Square, financial aid and application workshops, and campus program tours.

Following a morning filled with the exploration of co-curricular and various program options, visitors enjoyed lunch from Hot Dog on a Stick food truck. The entertainment in the Amphitheater was provided by the Music Department and student clubs.

The College also hosted a special luncheon for high school counselors where the Disabled Student Programs and Services and first-time student programs were highlighted.

Every year, Senior Preview Day introduces high school seniors to Cerritos College's academic and career technical education programs, student services, student life and athletic programs. The event showcases Cerritos College and presents signature programs and viable post-secondary options to high school seniors.

“Our students are so excited to attend Cerritos College this fall, and this event also convinced a few of our students who were indecisive to attend Cerritos as well,” said a counselor from John Glenn High School. “We are looking forward to bringing our seniors to this event next year.”

Senior Preview Day is coordinated by Cerritos College's Office of School Relations that collaborates with the campus community. For more information about attending Cerritos College or to learn more about Senior Preview Day, contact Shirley Arceo at 562-860-2451, Ext. 2129.
