Women's Track & Field state champions

Three State Champs Lead the Women's Track & Field Team to Second Place 

Led by three first-place finishes, the Cerritos College women's track & field team finished in second place at the 3C2A State Championships at San Mateo College on May 20.  Kimora Rogers, Rionna Wallace, Aryianna Faircloth & Crystal Nguyen came in first place in the 4x100 meter relay, and Jazzmine Davis won two individual state titles in 100-meter hurdles and Heptathlon. Lynwood HS graduates

Six Lynwood High School Students Graduate from Cerritos College with Engineering Design Technology Certificate

Lynwood High School seniors Alejandro Brizuela, Kevin Garcia, Alexa Medina, Alexandra Medina, Kianna Jimenez, and Ian García t recently earned a Cerritos College Engineering Design certificate of achievement as dual enrollment students. In addition, all six students earned the Certified SolidWorks Associate industry certification. This marks the 10th year that the College has celebrated dual enrollment graduates from Lynwood High School, thanks to the collaboration between the Engineering Design Technology Department and the Lynwood High School Project Lead The Way.

Students, Trustees, and Dr. Fierro Return to Sacramento to Address Affordable Housing and Bachelor's Degree

The Cerritos College delegation of students, trustees, and President Fierro met with Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon, Senator John Laird, and Assemblymember Blanca Pacheco to address affordable student housing and bachelor’s degrees for community college students. A Dental Hygiene bachelor's program at Cerritos College would help close equity gaps, making it more affordable for students to earn an advanced credential.
