Access and Technology:
Students must have access to the Internet. Access is available in Cerritos College computer labs or from local public libraries for free
Acquire a Hotmail e-mail account available at www.hotmail.com, other email services are allowed but they must be able to send and receive attachments.
Some online course sessions will be delivered live using "Microsoft NetMeeting" (available with most versions of MS Windows or via online downloads for free at www.microsoft.com) Practice using this technology will take place in the classroom before going online outside of class. For those outside the local region, this technology can be made available by contacting instructor directly at: crobertson@cerritos.edu - be sure to put your name and AB 287 in the Subject line.
It is recommended that students have multimedia capabilities at the computer stations to attend the class online - sound card, speakers or headphones etc. For in-class sessions, students should bring headphones with a minimum 6 foot cable with a 3mm jack.
Projects and
activities:
Students will be required to complete assignments working both individually and in teams. Assignments will be completed, copied and e-mailed to the instructor as attachments by their due-date.
Students are required to attend field trips locally, or to attend tours of body shops in their local areas to fulfill requirements of the course. Alternative assignments may be given for those unable to attend local area field trips on scheduled dates.
Expectations
It is
expected that you will participate actively by maintaining communication with
the instructor via e-mail, attending field trips, attending "Live Online"
sessions, viewing online presentations from class website,
submitting assignments according to due dates listed on the syllabus /
assignment list, completing assigned readings as listed on the syllabus /
assignment list, and responding to requests/questions by the instructor in a
timely manner via e-mail.
