The first half of the course is devoted to learning about the physics of energy. We will be discussing the use of energy in a modern society, energy mechanics, the conservation of energy, energy conservation, heat and work. We will then discuss the various sources of energy, including alternative forms to fossil fuels. Among those sources to be discussed will be solar energy, fossil fuels, hydro power, wind, geothermal and nuclear power. We will also discuss how energy is converted from a source into its most usable form, electricity.
