From a Mathematical point of View
From a strictly mathematical viewpoint we can determine what makes up 100%. This is in answer to the question as to what it means to give MORE than 100%. Did you ever wonder what people mean who say they are giving more than 100%? We have all been in situations where someone wants you to give over 100% (school?). Here is a little mathematical formula that might help you answer the question: what makes up 100% in life?
IF WE ASSIGN (a good mathematical expression) a value to the letters thus:
A = 1, B = 2, C =3,D = 4, etc. to Z = 26
THEN (another good mathematical expression)
H-A-R-D-W-R-K = 8+1+18+4+23+15+18+11 = 98%
AND K-N-O-W-L-E-D-G-E = 11+14+15+26+12+5+4+7+5 = 96%
BUT A-T-T-I-T-U-D-E = 1+20+20+9+20+21+4+5 = 100%
AND B-R-O-W-N-N-O-S-I-N-G = 2+18+12+23+14+14+15+9+19+5 = 131%
So now we can conclude with mathematical certainty that while HARD WORK and KNOWLEDGE will get you close to 100%, and ATTITUDE will actually get you there, but BROWNNOSING will put you over the top.
So the next time someone asks you to give more than 100%, you know mathematically what is required of you!
