On average, web sites last approximately 2 1/2 years.  Therefore some of the following sites may no longer be active.  If you discover such an inactive site, please notify Donald E. Hallinger at dhallinger@cerritos.edu.  If you find web sites that you think are of interest to your fellow students, provide the information to Mr. Hallinger for inclusion on this page.  Web sites will be added frequently, so check back to see what is new.  New items will be highlighted until the next additions.

            d'Arc cave dated at 31 K years ago.
        www.eskeletons.org    Provides an anatomy lesson for primates.  In points different bones and highlights
            differences between taxa.

        www.neodat.org          Site provides information on systematics and biogeography of
            neotropical fishes.  Links to 24 museum collections and classic texts on new world fishes.

        www.reefbase.org    Shows reef diversity and conservation.  Also highlights human-caused and
            natural environmental changes that jeopardize coral.
        diatom.acnatsci.org/Algaelmage  and  diatom.acnatsci.org/dpdc  Provides information and illustrations
            on diatoms.
        www.biology.arizona.edu  Site provides tutorials for first year Biology.  Good DNA coverage.

            Provides descriptions of web sites aimed at every level or academia.

ENERGY

        energy.cr.usgs/oilgas/noga   Provides latest estimates by USGS of the undiscovered oil and natural
            gas resources in the US.
        www.atomicarchive.com  Site provides history of the origin and use of nuclear devices from 1895 to
            2003 and has photos.

GENERAL

        www.science.gov     Provides round up of scientific information that is found on various US Government
            web sites.

ISSUES IN ECOLOGY/ENVIRONMENT

        www.actionbioscience.org     This site features more than 50 peer reviewed articles on ecological and
            environmental issues
        www.scorecard.org    County by county, state by state break downs on pollution emissions.  Site
            provides health effects and uses of more than 6900 hazardous chemicals.
        www.nsc.org/library/chemical/chemical.htm       Provides data sheets on over 80 chemicals as to
            properties and uses, health effects, and exposure limits.

LANDFORMS

        landsat.gsfc.nasa.gov/earthasart  Site provides downloadable images of landforms taken by Landsat-            7.  In color and false color.
