Earth Science and Geography Scholarships

Earth Science Department Scholarships:

  • Delvers Gem and Mineral Society Scholarship.  Each academic year the Earth Science Department is able to award at least one scholarship to declared geology majors who have successfully completed physical geology (Geology 101), and who exhibit outstanding potential in the field. This scholarship fund is generously supported by the Delvers Gem and Mineral Society of Downey, California, and by the faculty, past and present, of our Department.
  • Joan Licari Scholarship.  Each academic year the Earth Science Department is able to offer at least one scholarship to students majoring in geography who have completed at least one geography course at Cerritos College, and who exhibit outstanding potential in the field. This scholarship is named in honor of Professor Joan Licari who taught at Cerritos College for more than 30 years. This scholarship fund is also generously supported by the faculty, past and present, of our Department.
  • LoVetere Geography Scholarship.
    Each academic year the Earth Science Department is able to offer one scholarship to a First Generation College Student with a declared major of Geography, Earth Science, Geology or other SEM discipline and who exhibits outstanding potential in the field. This scholarship was created by Professor Crystal LoVetere who is also a first generation college student. This scholarship fund is generously supported by the faculty, past and present, of our Department.
