Color Photography
Assignment # 3 - Ambient Color Please hand in this sheet together with your print packed in an archival clear sleeve with museum board backing. Your print can be whatever size you deem appropriate. Include a CD with unflattened adjustment layers, and contact sheets of your RAW files. If working hybrid (scanned negatives or transparencies), include a small 4 x 6 contact sheet provided by a commercial lab, or your original transparencies in plastic sheets. If any of the above elements are missing the assignment will be marked "incomplete." Assignment Description: Make a reticent color photograph, that is to say, a picture with a quiet, delicate, or fragile mood-enhancing hint of color. Assignment Objective: We seek to understand how the intensity of a color affects the atmosphere generated by an image. Suggestions: Be subtle. Try to capture the image in a diffused light. Otherwise, desaturate the image in Photoshop. Evaluation Criteria: Craftsmanship - Sharpness Exposure Contrast Value (appropriate lightness / darkness) Needs dodging and / or burning Cleanness Aesthetic / Conceptual refinement (accomplishes assignment description and meets objective) Grade ___________ Student Name_______________________________ Teacher Comments: |
