Assignment Description:
We shall work directly with light and light sensitive materials without intervention from optics. Hand in three prints.

Assignment Objective:
This assignment is intended to broaden the student's appreciation and understanding of photography's possibilities. Here we abandon the notion of photography as a window of reality. Rather, alternative processes involving exploration of light and shadow in layered densities are to be undertaken in service of the imagination.

Suggestions:
Avoid the trite and trivial. Ask yourself what your pictures would sound like if they were music.

Evaluation Criteria:
Craftsmanship - Contrast
Value (appropriate lightness / darkness)

Aesthetic / Conceptual refinement (accomplishes assignment description and meets objective)
Risk and playfulness
