Assignment Objective:
Directorial or "staged photography", as it is sometimes called, goes back to the beginnings of photography.  The student should become familiar with its historical uses, as well as its importance within contemporary photographic practice.  This assignment will also be an introduction to the movements of the large format view camera, and learning to collaborate. Please be aware that this is not a portrait assignment, although it may include people.

Suggestions:
Organize your time and communicate effectively with your group.  Don't hesitate to ask questions to the teacher.  Be clear about your concept before setting up your shot.  Feel free to be as serious or humorous as you please.  Try to use the image to connect and open your audience to an idea, emotion, or atmosphere.  Leave enough time to redo before the due date in case something goes wrong.
