Assignment #4 - 3-D Photography

Assignment Description:
Make one or more 3-D stereo cards, prints, slides,  reels, projections, or digital displays.  If you decide to make a card, a stereoscope or 3-D glasses will be provided by the instructor.  Otherwise, bring your own stereo viewing system to the critique.

Assignment Objective:
The student will come away from this assignment having had exposure to a number of techniques for making 3-D photographs including: anaglyph, polarized projections, and systems requiring a stereoscope or other specialized viewers.  We will venture to understand the ubiquity and limitations of 3-D photography. Visual discourses including popular and club culture, and contemporary art, will be explored.

Suggestions:
Stay more than armslength away from your closest subject.
Use deep depth of field.
If using a sliding bar, use a tripod.
Take pictures that make sense in 3-D, that is to say, layer subject matter at various distances from the camera. The form of the work and the content should work together.
