This is just like the homework on page 67.
Name the notes and the position they occupy on the piano keyboard.
Two pages. This will look similar to the exercises in class (treble/bass clef).
Notate each note-name as indicated
One page. Here I write "CC, C, c, c1 etc." beneath a treble/bass clef staff and you have to supply its notated equivalent.
Complete each equation as indicated
One page. Here I ask that you know how many smaller note values are in a larger note value. For instance: How many half notes are there in a whole note? I will write these questions in musical notation; so, you'll see a whole note and half note with an equals sign in between. (See p.45, exercise 4)
Analyze the following intervals
One page. This is where I pair two notes and you tell me numerical and quality classification: m2, M2, m3, M3, P4/5, A4, d5, m6, M6, m7, M7 etc.
Write the intervals indicated above or below the note given (arrow up/arrow down)
Two pages. I recommend practicing this on pages 129-133.
Specify the melodic intervals contained in the following melodies
One page. I'll give you a few melodies and you tell me about their intervals.
Performance
The day of the midterm I will give you one melody written in bass clef and one melody written in treble clef to perform. Practice reading music on page 376.
