Online Section
The students will meet on the first day of class for an orientation. Other meetings will be announced as needed. f The IP address for the host iSeries 400 (AS/400) for the online sections is 67.100.103.190 and its name is Thumper. Students will be provided with software to use for terminal emulation and iSeries Navigator to use on their computers as well as Websphere development studio as needed. They will be able to download MochaSoft software to access the iSeries also. They may also access the iSeries through the new iSeries 400 for Web interface. Instructions on the installation of this software is available on this site. This will provide easy access to the off-campus system. When loading iSeries access for Windows make sure you load the service pack for correct operations. Note: iSeries Access for Windows is required to access iSeries Navigator. The Websphere development studio is used as an editor. However, you may fine SEU on green screen more helpful, as it has command prompting. Notepad can also be used as an editor, then the program cut and pasted into SEU.
Assignments will be graded on Thumper or on-campus iSeries. Students can access either or both iSeries 400 machines.
Printing on your local printer, when at home is only available through iSeries Navigator.
