NOTE:  The student will need access to Microsoft Office 2003 to do the assignments for this course.  The Office suit needs to include Word 2003, Excel 2003, PowerPoint 2003, & Access 2003.  If you do not have the software on your computer you may do the hands-on work in the campus computer labs. The campus labs have Office 2003 installed.  Cerritos College does not supply students computer software for home computers.

Quizzes will be given every week starting week 3 of the class.  If you will miss a quiz for a good reason, contact me prior to the week of the quiz to make  arrangements to take the quiz.  There will be no quiz make-ups after the time interval the quiz was available.   Some weeks there might be 2 quizzes.  There will be 21 quizzes and the 16 best quizzes will be used in the calculation of you grade. 

The lab assignments and links to lecture and supporting materials are found on the class web pages.  There are two sites for this section.  One at Cerritos College (http://www.cerritos.edu/hohly/cis102/C102Sp2007W.htm) and the other at the Webct site (http://ct.webct.com).   Please refer to these pages for more information.  Make sure that you print out the separate sheets that contains the lab assignments.

Revisions to schedule will be made to the syllabus and posted on the web sites for this class. Lab, lectures, and supporting materials for this class are posted on one of the two sites.  Some things are only available on the Webct site.  The Webct site has discussion section, quizzes, lecture notes and other things not found on the Cerritos site.  On the Webct site the course materials can be accessed by 'clicking' on your course: 'CIS 102 - Introduction to Microcomputers - Spring 2007 - Wednesday  Traditional/Online'.  Instructions to log on to the site will be provided during orientations.  It is the students responsibility to retrieve their assignments from the Web College website. All assignment must be submitted to your instructor via webct (files) and printouts in class for traditional sections.  The hybrid/online section will submit their files for each printout through webct.  They will ONLY be accepted submitted in class or via webct. 

Remember it is critical to keep in contact with your instructor.  If you have not been heard from  for 3 weeks or are not making academic progress you will be dropped from the class.

Academic honesty is expected in this course.  The College Academic honesty/Dishonesty Policy policy will be enforced in this class.  If there are any questions as to what this policy is, see the college catalogue or the Schedule of Classes (pages 130-131).
