World Wide Web Faculty Skill Development Project

The World Wide Web is a revolutionary tool in teaching and curriculum development.   To take advantage of this powerful new medium, Cerritos College created a faculty development program to provide Web-based training to faculty.  A pilot group of faculty from both vocational and academic disciplines participated.   The focus of this project was the development of web-related skills and the investigation of changing/enhancing curriculum.  As part of this training, faculty developed pilot curriculum modules.  The curriculum modules were then offered both in courses in their own discipline and on their home page.  Each faculty member also developed their own web site during this project.

Participation in the project had a dramatic effect on the teaching and curriculum development of each faculty involved. Due to their participation,  faculty developed new outlooks on teaching and communication.  This new outlook inspired them to find new uses of technology for their courses.   This project included training, and curriculum development processes that formed a model for future projects.
