  • PADRES Contra El Cáncer Internship Program - If you are interested in learning about the day-to day functions of a non-profit organization, in a fast paced environment, then PADRES is the place for you! PADRES offers year round mentorship experiences in the following areas of study: Psychology, Social Work, Marketing, Communications, Fund Development, and Nonprofit/Organizational Management. Depending on the area of study, interns can be assigned to work out of the PADRES Offices in Toluca Lake, Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) or UCLA's Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center (JCCC).   • COPE Health Scholars Program - The COPE Health Scholars Program features a clinically-focused experience that gives pre-health professionals unprecedented access to direct patient care. COPE Health Scholars interns become valuable members of the patient care team alongside nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals in clinical and administrative settings. Interns receive training to participate in basic patient care tasks such as bathing, changing and feeding patients as they rotate among the different departments within the hospital. For instance, interns may have the opportunity to serve in areas such as the Emergency Department, observe surgeries performed in the operating rooms, or witness babies being born in Labor & Delivery.
