Greetings and welcome to the Division of Health, Physical Education, Dance and Athletics. The division is designed to give students the knowledge necessary to develop lifestyles that will lengthen and enhance the quality of their lives. We are proud of the quality of programs within the division. Recently our new Dance Department was formed to keep up with increased interest in this area.  Our two certificate programs, the Fitness Specialist and the Athletic Trainers Aid are now well established and meeting the needs of our students. The past few years we have also increased our offerings in Health Education and updated our physical education major offerings.

    Within the athletic department, 19 sports are offered to the Cerritos student body. During the 2007-2008 school year, eight of these teams won conference championships. Cerritos College finished 1^st in Southern California and 2^nd in the State in the athletic supremacy rating.  Points are awarded based on the success of all teams in state championship competition. This is the highest finish for the college. Highlights include three State Championships this past year (Women’s Soccer, Women’s Track and Field, and Softball). 

    I am most impressed with the quality and dedication of our faculty, staff and coaches. It is these committed individuals who insure the success of the division.
