Greetings and welcome to the Division of Health, Physical Education, and Athletics. We are proud of the quality of programs within the division.  Recently our physical education major curriculum was updated and two new certificate programs were established, The Fitness Specialist and The Athletic Trainers Aid. We are also in the process of establishing a new dance department to stand by itself, highlighting this popular area of study.

            The Health, Physical Education & Athletics division is designed to give students the knowledge necessary to develop lifestyles that will lengthen and enhance the quality of their lives. Within this department, 19 sports are offered to the Cerritos student body and courses are popular with both students and faculty alike. During the 2006-2007 school year, we finished fifth overall in the state athletic supremacy award. Points are awarded to each college based on their success in state tournament competition. This success was the highest on record for the college. This success was spearheaded by a state championship in men's soccer and a second place finish in softball. 

            I am most impressed with the quality and dedication of our faculty, staff and coaches.  It is these committed individuals who insure the success of the division.
