players
Jade Wilson and
Nicole Deel were both named 1st
Team All-Lone Star Conference South Division
selections this year. The two players, who are at
Abilene Christian University, have led their team to
the regional playoffs and are currently 40-16 on the
season. Wilson is a senior outfielder, while Deel is
a junior third baseman.
Through their first 56 games,
Wilson is batting .370 with six home runs, 38 RBI,
16 doubles, 29 walks and has scored 44 runs, while
Deel is the team's best power hitter. She is batting
.339 and has clubbed 13 home runs with 54 RBI, while
she also has 15 doubles and has scored 45 runs.
While with the Falcons in 2004,
the two helped the team to their first South Coast
Conference championship since 1990 and were seeded
#2 in the Southern California Regional Playoffs and
finished 30-9. That year, Wilson was a 1st Team
All-Southern California selection, while Deel earned
the honors in 2005. Wilson batted .358 in 2004,
while each of them had three home runs, with Wilson
driving in 28.
In her sophomore year of 2005,
Deel batted .365 with nine home runs and 33 RBI, as
the team placed second in the conference and were
29-10 on the season. The nine round-trippers were a
single-season school record, while Deel (12) and
Wilson (10) are 1-2 in career home runs. |
