Former Cerritos College football player Demetrin
Veal, who was released by the Denver Broncos
prior to the start of the regular season, was
recently signed by the Tennessee Titans. He was
signed prior to the 10th game of the
season and has seen significant action in both games
since his signing.
After being
drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the seventh round
of the 2003 NFL Draft, Veal appeared in three games
his rookie season. He was then released by the
Falcons during training camp the following season,
and was signed to the Baltimore Ravens practice
squad. Veal didn’t see any action with the Ravens
and was signed as a free agent by the Denver
Broncos, where he spent four seasons with the
Broncos. After being released by the Broncos in
training camp, the Titans signed him to replace
injured defensive end Albert Haynesworth, who was a
college teammate at the University of Tennessee.
While
with Cerritos, Veal was a two-time All-Conference
choice and was named the Defensive Player of the
Year in the conference and in Southern California as
a sophomore. |
