VOLLEYBALL TEAM TO PARTICIPATE IN CAUSE |
In the month of October, the
Cerritos College volleyball team will be participating
in the Side-Out Foundation's Dig Pink National Breast
Cancer Awareness Rally, as well as their own "Volley for
the Cure" campaign. The first game in which the Falcons
will be participating will be their 6:30 p.m. South
Coast Conference match against rival Long Beach City
College. Cerritos is playing their home matches this
season at Gahr High while the gym is under construction.
The Falcon volleyball program is supporting the cause to
promote breast cancer awareness and to pay their
respects to those who have lost their lives and who
continue to battle breast cancer. The team will be
wearing pink jerseys in matches for the whole month
of October. The money that is raised
through donations and t-shirt sales during the home
matches in October will be donated directly to the
Side-Out Foundation. In 2009 the Cerritos volleyball
team raised $560.00 and their goal for 2011 is
$700.00. |
