Batted .214 on the season and saw time at first and third base… Clubbed two home runs and drove in 10 runs in 56 at-bats on the year… Biggest hit of the season was a three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to help beat Long Beach City College, 5-4 in a crucial game… Started the following game after his big home run and was 2-for-5 at the plate with two runs scored… Had four two-hit games and drove in two runs in three other contests… Had some success at the plate in the four games he started at third base, batting .313… Was a three-time All-Area selection in high school… Also named All-Del Rio League three years in a row and was voted his team’s Most Valuable Player as a junior and senior… Was a third baseman his last two seasons after serving as a designated hitter his sophomore year… Named his team’s Rookie of the Year as a sophomore after earning the junior varsity team’s Most Valuable Player and Most Inspirational Player as a freshman… Also played three years of football and helped them win the league title and advance to the CIF semi-final game… Would like to transfer to either Cal State Long Beach or Cal State Fullerton… Likes to sketch and draw in his spare time… Nicknamed “Rhyno”… Has one sibling – Ashley (17)… Is the son of Larry and Minnie Bateman… Born in La Mirada, CA on March 4, 1986…..
