| Was a red-shirt at Long Beach
City College last season… As a senior in high
school, he was rated as one of the top three
outfielders in the state of Colorado and was
named the Palisade Chamber of Commerce
Student-Athlete of the Year… Earned 1st
Team All-Western Slope honors after batting .463
with two home runs and 44 RBI… Also earned the
team’s Most Valuable Player and Big Bat awards…
As a junior, he was named the league’s Most
Valuable Player and 1st Team
all-league after batting .497 with eight home
runs and 36 RBI… Spent three years on the
baseball team and two years on the football
team… As a senior, he helped lead the football
team to the state championship and was the
team’s top wide receiver… Football team won the
league title and reached the state championship
game as a junior… Most memorable moment was when
he went 4-for-5 with two triples, a home run and
a double… Also credits winning the state
championship in football as a memorable moment…
Father played football at Long Beach State,
while his grandfather played professional
baseball for the Seattle Raineers and the
Seattle Pilots… Also had an uncle who played
baseball for the Falcons and another that played
at Cypress College, while one aunt played tennis
at Fullerton College and another played softball
at Fullerton College… Likes to play the drums in
his spare time… Nicknamed “Jake D”… Has six
siblings – Brian (23), Adam (21), Rachel (19),
Jeremy (17), Clint (14) and Alicia (12)… Is the
son of Steve Moore and Sara Kentworth… Born in
Artesia, CA on April 13, 1986….. |
