All-South Coast Conference his freshman year as
a utility player… Was second on the team with a
.320 batting average and also went 7-4 on the
mound with a 3.12 ERA… Was an outstanding
defensive player, as he committed just one error
and had a .987 fielding percentage… Led the team
with two four-hit games, as he collected them
against Los Angeles City College (4-for-6, four
RBI, four runs) and Los Angeles Harbor College
(4-for-5 two runs)… Had an eight-game hitting
streak where he batted at a .484 (16-for-33)
clip and saw his batting average increase by 77
points… Batted .447 hitting in the second spot
in the lineup… On the mound, he won his first
four decisions, and earned a decision in all 11
games he started… Went eight innings in four of
his starts, which included a shutout against
Compton College… Named the Suburban League Most
Valuable Player after batting .480 as a senior
in high school… Also named 1st Team
All-Press Telegram Dream Team, 1st
Team All-Area and 1st Team All-CIF…
Selected his team’s Most Valuable Player… Helped
team to three straight league titles, while the
school has now won six in a row… As a junior, he
was named his team’s Offensive Player of the
Year after batting .446… Also selected 1st
Team All-League and 2nd Team
All-Area… Hit .320 his sophomore year… Would
like to transfer to any school that offers him a
scholarship… Aspires to work in the sports
therapy field… Likes to work out in his spare
time… Has two siblings – Billy (25) and Derek
(22)… Is the son of Bill and Janet Van Doren…
