| Appeared in 33 games last
season and started 25 times, all in center
field… Batted .240 with 23 hits and 14 RBI… Had
seven multiple-high games, including a 3-for-5
game with three runs scored and two RBI against
Los Angeles City College… Had a season-long
five-game hitting streak in which he had two or
more hits in four of them… Had three straight
two-high games… Drove in a season-high three
runs against Golden West College… Struggled at
the end of the season and went hitless in his
last 12 at-bats… All but four of his at-bats
came in the #9 spot in the lineup… Played four
years of baseball in high school… As a freshman
at Los Alamitos High, he batted .400, stole 20
bases and was named his team’s Defensive Player
of the Year… Most memorable moment was when he
went 4-for-4 in a game with three stole bases…
Is also working on a minor in physical education
and would like to transfer to San Diego State
University… His grandfather played for the
Chicago Cubs… Nicknamed “Tricky Nick”… Has one
sister – Jenn… Is the son of Randy and Sunny
Armstrong… Born in Fullerton, CA….. |
