| Was an All-South Coast
Conference Honorable Mention selection last
season… Appeared in all 44 games last year and
started in 43 of them… Batted .282 and led the
team in runs scored (34), walk (22) and triples
(3)… Also drove in 21 runs and was second on the
team with 14 stolen bases… Batted .279 with
runners in scoring position… Had 15 multiple-hit
games, including a four-hit game against Los
Angeles City College, while he also drove in
three and scored five times… Had an 11-game
hitting streak from Feb. 12-Mar. 7, which saw
his batting average rise 142 points… Was
primarily the team’s lead-off hitter, but hit
.391 (9-for-23) in seven games from the #8 spot
in the lineup… Named 2nd Team All-West Valley
League as a senior in high school after batting
.375 with four home runs, 32 RBI and a
team-leading six triples… Team reached the CIF
Finals that season… In his junior year, the team
won the National Championship after going 35-0
and won the CIF Championship at Dodger Stadium…
Batted .330 as a junior… While on the junior
varsity team, he helped them win the National
Championship and was named 1st Team All-League
after batting .480… Earned the JV team’s Most
Improved Player award as a freshman… Most
memorable moment was when he hit a home run
against Reseda High after his coach told him to
do so and playing on two National Championship
teams… Is working on a minor in journalism and
would like to be either a sports broadcaster or
a lawyer… Would like to transfer to San Diego
State, UC Santa Barbara or UCLA… Likes to
snowboard and play ping pong in his spare time…
Nicknamed “Bazz”… Has two brothers – Aaron (22)
and Adam (14)… Is the son of Dave and Kate
Baslow… Born in Tarzana, CA on September 23,
1987….. |
