All-South Coast Conference selection last season
after going 9-5 with two complete games and a
2.58 ERA… Pitched in 97.2 innings and struck out
57 batters, while limiting his opponents to a
.226 batting average… Appeared in 18 games and
started 13 times, which tied for the most on the
team… Also saw some early time as a designated
hitter, but finished with season with one hit
and three RBI in eight at-bats… Limited
right-handed hitters to a .196 average… Pitched
seven shutout innings in his first start of the
year against Santa Ana College… Threw a one-run,
four-hit complete game against El Camino and
won, 2-1, while in his pervious start, he
dropped a 3-1 decision against Long Beach City
College in a complete-game effort… Had a
season-high seven strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings
against Pasadena City College, while he struck
out six batters in five games… Was a 1st
Team All-Del Rio League, All-Area and All-CIF
selection as a senior in high school… Helped
lead his team to the league championship… Batted
.330 with 12 doubles his senior year, while
recording 10 saves and an 0.89 ERA… Played three
years of baseball and two years of football in
high school… Would like to transfer to USC…
Nicknamed “Sucio”… Has five siblings – Mike
(40), Alfonso (39), Roger (32), Maria (27) and
Gina (22)… Is the son of Rojelio and Adela
Camacho… Born in Paramount, CA on July 12,
1986….. |
