Was a medical red-shirt last season… Spent three years on the baseball team and two years on the football team in high school… As a senior on the baseball team, he was named 2nd Team All-Del Rey League and led the league with 27 RBI… Batted .392 with 16 runs scored and a .486 on base percentage… Hit at a .293 clip with 16 RBI his junior seasons… As a sophomore, his team won the Camino Real League championship and advanced to the CIF Championship game for the first time in school history… Their 27-6 record was the best in school history… Batted .320 that season with 21 RBI and 18 runs scored… While on the football team, they won the Camino Real League title both seasons… As a senior, he was named the league’s Defensive Player of the Year and was a 1st Team All-CIF selection at linebacker… Also named 1st Team all-league… Was selected to play in the South Bay Lions All-Star Game and was a starter… Recorded a team-high 88 tackles to go along with six quarterback sacks, one interception and one touchdown… As a junior, he led the team with 88 stops and was a 1st Team all-league selection… Most memorable moment was when he went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored in a CIF 2nd Round Playoff win against Brentwood High his sophomore year… Would like to transfer to Hawaii Pacific University… His father played baseball at San Pedro High and also played ASA fastpitch softball, while his brother Michael (30) played baseball for the Falcons in 1997 and was the team captain before moving on to Cal State Long Beach, where he played in the College World Series… Likes to work out in his spare time… Has another brother, Freddie (35)… Is the son of Freddie and Madelyn Luera… Born in Harbor City, CA on May 22, 1986…..
