| Was the team’s starting
catcher and also served as the designated hitter
last season… Batted .279 with 46 hits, to go
along with 10 doubles and 20 RBI… Was solid
behind the plate, committing just one error and
had eight passed balls… Batted .308 (20-for-65)
with runners in scoring position… Posted 10
multiple-hit games, including a 4-for-6 game
with three RBI against Los Angeles City College…
Had four three-hit games, including two in a
three-game span… Had an 11-game hitting streak
from March 7 – April 1, which saw his average
swell from .206 to .278… Finished the season
with a three-game hitting streak… Batted .319
from the clean-up spot last year… Named All-CIF
2nd Team as a senior in high school after
earning 2nd Team All-Suburban League recognition
as a junior… Was the team’s Most Valuable Player
his freshman and sophomore seasons… Also spent
one year on the wrestling team… Played for
former Falcon Mikie Garcia… Would like to
transfer to any school that offers him a
scholarship and a chance to play… Likes to go
camping in his spare time… Nicknamed “P-Rod”…
Has two siblings – Wendy and Christian… Is the
son of Felipe and Silvia Rodriguez… Born in East
Los Angeles, CA on November 3, 1986….. |
