Now entering his
second year with the Falcon coaching staff,
Jack Brooks has made an immediate impact
with the team. His duties with the team
include working with the infielders and
outfielders and serving as the third base
coach. Prior to coming to the Falcons, Books
served as the head coach for one season at
Norwalk High School, where he led them to
their first CIF Playoff victory in six
years. He also served as an assistant coach
there for two years before becoming the head
coach. His first coaching assignment came
under the guidance of his father, Kim
Brooks, at La Mirada High, where he spent
one season as an assistant.
Brooks prepped at
La Mirada High, where he played for his
father and helped lead them to the Suburban
League championship in 1996, his junior
year, while the team reached the CIF
Championship game twice. In addition, he
played football for the Matadors and helped
the team advance to the CIF Championships
twice. He was named All-League and All-CIF
on both the baseball and football teams.
He then moved on
to Loyola Marymount University, where he was
an infielder for four seasons (1998-2002)
and was a part of three West Coast
Conference championship teams. In his senior
season, he batted .315, which was fourth
highest on the team. Brooks graduated with a
Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning with a
minor in History.
Brooks, who
was married in July, 2006 to his wife Gris,
have a two-year old son, Brayden Thomas and
a five-month old son, Bobby Jack. |
