Was a 2nd Team All-South Coast
Conference selection last season… Started all 46
games and batted a team-leading .344 with 63
hits, 11 doubles and 38 RBI… Also led the team
with a .459 slugging percentage and drew 19
walks, while he stole 11-of-15 bases… Was second
on the team with 18 multiple-hit games, which
included three four-hit games… Batted .349
against right-handed pitchers and .324 against
left-handed pitchers… Also batted .319 with
runners in scoring position… Over a 12-game
period in the month of April, he batted .481
(25-for-52) and saw his batting average improve
by 54 points… Went 6-for-8 with seven RBI in a
two-game series against San Diego Mesa College…
Also had a four-hit against Los Angeles City
College (4-for-6, 2 RBI) and Long Beach City
College (4-for-5)..…
La Mirada HS:
Named All-CIF as a senior after batting over
.400 with eight home runs… Was a two-time 1st
Team All-Suburban League selection… Named to the
Press Telegram Dream Team as a senior,
while also being named his school’s Male Athlete
of the Year… Batted over .500 as a sophomore and
junior… Team went undefeated in league play his
senior season… Also spent a year on the football
team..…
Personal:
Most memorable moment was going 4-for-5 with two
home runs against Bishop Amat High… Is the
nephew of Rick Costello, who played for the
Falcons, while his grandfather played
professional baseball… Nicknamed “T-Blood”… Has
four siblings – Travis (24), who played on the
Falcon football team, Kerri (22), Katie (17) and
Shane (15)… Is the son of Kelli Blood… Born in
Santa Ana, CA on October 22, 1987….. |
