Named 2nd Team All-South Coast
Conference… Started all 46 games at shortstop
and batted .305 on the year with 10 doubles and
28 RBI… Also led the team with 28 walks and
stole eight out of nine bases… Led the team with
four triples and hit one home run… Had a
team-best 17-game hitting streak… Was batting
over .400 until late March… Hit for the cycle
against Los Angeles City, as he went 4-for-5
with four runs scored and two RBI… Batted .558
when leading off an innings and also hit at a
.545 clip with runners on third base and less
than two outs… Was most productive from the
fifth spot in the batting order, hitting .364
(24-of-66)… Had eight games where he drove in
two runs, including three in a row…

Was a two-time 1st Team All-CIF,
All-Area and All-Miramonte League selection…
Named the league’s Most Valuable Player as a
senior after batting .419 with two home runs and
32 RBI… Helped lead his team to the league
championship… Played his freshman year at Bishop
Amat High and batted .356…
Personal:
Most memorable moment was when he
went 3-for-4 at the plate with four RBI and also
struck out 13 batters against Crescenta Valley
High… Would like to transfer to UC Irvine,
University of San Diego, USC or Cal State Long
Beach… Nicknamed “J-Peezzy”… Has three siblings
– Lourdes (33), Isela (31) and Albert (16)… Is
the son of Rito and Eva Pena… Born in Los
