Cerritos (2009):
Made 11 relief appearances and was 0-0 with one
save and a 7.13 ERA in 17 2/3 innings… Save came
in a three-inning appearance against Pasadena
City College where he allowed two hits and an
unearned run… Had a season-high four strikeouts
against Fresno City College in 2 2/3 innings of
work and struck out 11 on the year…..
La Mirada HS:
Named a Scholar-Athlete four years in a row… Was
a 2nd Team All-Suburban League at
designated hitter pick as a senior after batting
.405… Also went 5-3 on the mound… Helped the
team reach the CIF championship game as a junior
after batting .400… Selected the junior varsity
team’s Most Valuable Player as a sophomore…..
Personal:
Most memorable moment was when he hit a ground
rule double in the CIF championship game at
Dodger Stadium… Would like to transfer to any
Division I school and aspires to be a high
school teacher and baseball coach… His
grandfather Tim Gibbs played for the Brooklyn
Dodgers, while his cousin, Ben Diggins was the
#1 pick by the Dodgers in 2000… Likes to play
golf in his spare time… Nicknamed “Barracuda”…
Has two siblings – Boone (15) and Keegan (7)… Is
the son of Chris and Kecia Woods… Born in Santa
Ana, CA on February 21, 1990….. |
