Beginning his first
season with the Falcon coaching staff, Don
Laut is not new to community college
football. He has spent the last 16 years
coaching football at Long Beach City
College. Although Laut has coaching tight
ends, running backs and defensive linemen,
he has spent the majoring of his coaching
career with linebackers and serving as the
team’s strength coach. As a linebackers
coach, Laut produced over 15 all-conference
players, as well as two community college
All-Americans who have gone on to play in
the National Football League.
Laut attended Channel
Islands High in Oxnard, where he was a
standout in football and track and field. In
football, he was an All-CIF selection, while
in track and field he was a four-time league
champion. He then went on to Moorpark
College, where he was an all-conference
selection and state champion in the shot
put. Laut then received a scholarship to Cal
State Long Beach, where he continued his
career in football and track and field. Laut
went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts
degree in Physical Education with a Master’s
degree in Education from Azusa Pacific
University
Laut currently works at
Bancroft Middle School in Long Beach as a
physical education instructor. He lives in
Lakewood with his wife of 14 years, Rebecca,
and their three children – Aaron (12), Cody
(12) and Megan (8). |
