As a senior, his team won the CIF Championship
and the Freeway league title… Was named 1st
Team All-Area, 1st Team All-CIF, 1st
Team all-league and 2nd Team
All-County… Voted the team’s Most Valuable
Player… Was 74-for-77 on extra points and as a
wide receiver, he caught 49 passes for 857
yards… Scored 14 touchdowns on the year and also
returned five punts… As a junior and sophomore,
he was a 2nd Team all-league, 2nd
Team All-CIF and 2nd Team All-City…
Team won the league title both seasons… Named
the team’s Special Teams Player of the Year as a
freshman… Was coached by former Falcon player
and assistant coach Frank Mazzotta Jr… Also
spent three years on the soccer and track and
field teams… In soccer, he was named the
Whittier Daily News Player of the Year as a
senior after his team won the CIF championship…
Also named 1st Team All-Area and 1st
Team all-league… As a sophomore, the team won
the City Championship and he was a 2nd
Team All-CIF, 2nd Team All-Area and 2nd
Team all-league pick…..
Personal:
Most memorable moment was winning back-to-back
CIF titles in soccer and when he had two punt
returns and one receiving touchdown against San
Gabriel High… Would like to transfer to any
Division I school... Likes to play sports in his
spare time… Nicknamed “Petey”… Has four siblings
– Manny (28), David (25), Brittany (15) and
Hannah (11)… Is the son of Pedro and Araceli
Puga… Born in Orange, CA on December 25, 1989….. |
