After helping the
Cerritos College football team to a 7-4 record and
first post-season bid since 2003, two members were
honored by being named All-California 1st Team
Region III. Sophomore defensive tackle
Johnny
Tivao (Paramount HS) and
freshman linebacker
Matthew
Moody (Sonora HS) were the
only Falcons to be honored. Both were also 1st Team
All-National Division Central Conference.
Moody finished
third on the team in tackles with 62 stops, while he
also added 8 1/2 tackles for loss and shared the
team lead with five quarterback sacks. In addition,
Moody had three quarterback hurries, two
interceptions, two pass breakups and a forced
fumble. As for Tivao, he posted 47 tackles and was
second on the team with 10 tackles for loss. he
contributed three quarterback hurries and had a
half-sack on the year.
