North Torrance HS:
Named the Pioneer League Most Valuable Player
his senior year after passing for 2,400 yards
and 28 touchdowns, while rushing for 850 yards
and nine touchdowns… Also named All-CIF,
All-Area and 1st Team all-league…
Threw for 1,400 yards and 10 scores his junior
season and was selected all-league and was voted
his team’s Most Valuable Player… Voted the
team’s MVP as a sophomore and was the Offensive
Player of the Year his freshman year… Spent two
seasons on the basketball team and was selected
the league’s Most Outstanding Player, as well as
All-CIF, All-Area and all-league…..
Personal:
Most memorable moment was when he threw for 327
yards and six touchdowns his senior year against
Lawndale High… Would like to transfer to UCLA,
the University of Oregon or Arizona State
University… Aspires to be either a sports agent
or college coach… Likes to play basketball in
his spare time… Nicknamed “B.J.”… Has four
siblings – Gunner (13), Hannah (11), Landon (2)
and Lawson (2)… Is the son of Norton and Nanci
Engem… Born in Torrance, CA on December 14,
