Cerritos
College sophomore shooting guard
Aaron
Thompson (Washington Prep HS) has
signed a letter of intent with Cal State
Fullerton and will join the Titans next
season, according to Falcon assistant coach
Tito Ortiz. Thompson, who currently
leads the team in scoring, is a third-year
sophomore and will have two seasons to play
at Cal State Fullerton.
As a freshman during the
2005-06 season (he was a red-shirt during
the 2006-07 season), Thompson was a 1st
Team All-South Coast Conference South
Division selection and averaged 13.0 points
and 6.2 rebounds a game which were both
second best on the team. He connected on 53%
of his field goals and 73% of his free
throws and was also third on the team in
assists (74) and steals (38). This season,
he has already had a 20-point game in a
104-90 loss to Palomar College, while the
Falcons are currently 1-1 on the year.
While a player at Washington Prep High,
Thompson was an All-Marine and All-City
player after averaging 19.5 points, six
rebounds and four assists a game as a
senior. He is majoring in sociology at
Cerritos.
