Sophomore
Aaron Thompson (Washington Prep
HS) and freshman
Danrich Jones (Compton HS)
each netted two free throws in the final
minute to secure a 70-63 non-conference win
on Wednesday for the Cerritos College men’s
basketball team at College of the Canyons.
The win improves the Falcons record to 3-3,
as they travel to Ventura College on
Saturday night for another non-conference
game. The two teams faced each other two
weeks ago in the Irvine Valley Tournament.
Leading by as many as 13
points in the first half, Cerritos saw the
Cougars pull to within a 30-29 sore at
halftime. However, the Falcons turned to
sophomore forward
Travele Jones (Inglewood HS)
in the second half, and he responded with 18
of his game-high 21 points in the final 20
minutes.
In
addition to his nine points on the night,
Thompson led the team with 12 rebounds,
while freshman guard
Jeremiah Barnes (Los Altos HS)
dished off six assists and recorded three
steals.
