11.29.08 - THIRD STRAIGHT LOSS ANOTHER CLOSE ONE
    Despite 25 points and five assists from freshman guard Brian Barner (Palisades HS), the Cerritos College men's basketball team lost their third straight close game in a row with an 85-84 setback at Los Angeles City College on Saturday night. The Falcons (2-4) have lost their last three games by a combined seven points, while their other loss was by seven points. The team will look to regroup on Wednesday when they host East Los Angeles College at 7:30 p.m. in a South Coast Conference crossover game.
 
    Barner drained a career-high seven three-pointers and converted 8-of-12 field goals and was one of five players to score in double-figures for the Falcons. Sophomore guard Gregory Preer (St. Vincent St. Mary (OH) HS/Ashland (OH) University) added 17 points, nine rebounds, five assists and three steals, with the duo of sophomore guard Van Girard (Gahr HS) and freshman forward Jonathan Garcia (St. John Bosco HS) each finishing with 12 points. Girard also led the team with five steals and dished out five assists. Sophomore guard Jeremiah Barnes (Los Altos HS) came off the bench to contribute six points and three rebounds in the loss.
