11.18.06 - Freshman runner finishes
first season as All-American

concluded his first season with the Falcons by coming in
fourth place at the state championships on Friday, which
earned him All-American status. After a 12th place
finish last year, the Falcons compiled 332 team points,
which placed them 13th as a team, while the time of
20:31 by Clifford-Sorenson was 13 seconds faster than
the time he ran on the same course earlier in the year.
There was a big gap before the next set of three
Cerritos runners finished the four-mile course.

11.03.06 - Team qualifies for state
championships in Fresno

has shown all season that he is one of the top runners
in the state. On Friday, he helped lead the Cerritos
College team to a 14th place finish in the Southern
California Championships at Antelope Valley College by
placing seventh. He completed the four-mile course in a
time of 22:40 and had four South Coast Conference
runners finish ahead of him, which shows how good the
conference has been all season. The Falcons compiled 399
team points, good for 14th out of the 28 teams that
competed, while four other conference teams finished
ahead of Cerritos. San Bernardino Valley College won the
championship with 118 team points, while SCC teams Mt.
San Antonio College (third place), East Los Angeles
College (fifth place), El Camino College (sixth place)
and Los Angeles Trade-Tech College (seventh place) also

at conference championships

HS) placed sixth in the South Coast
Conference Men's Cross Country Championships on Friday
at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena to help Cerritos College
place fifth overall. Clifford-Sorenson, who won three
straight meets earlier in the season, finished the
four-mile run in a time of 22:00. As a team, the Falcons
compiled 149 team points, with East Los Angeles College
winning the conference title with 53 team points,
followed by El Camino College (61), Mt. San Antonio (62)
and Los Angeles Trade-Tech (71), who all finished ahead
of the Falcons. Next up for the team will be the
Southern California Championships, which will take place
next Friday at Antelope Valley College in Lancaster...[more]

at Santa Barbara

saw the backs of other runners cross the finish line
before him. He was beat out by two Los Angeles
Trade-Tech runners at the Santa Barbara Invitational on
Saturday, as the Falcons placed fifth out of 20 schools.
Clifford-Sorenson completed the 4-mile race in a time of
19:19, with the Trade-Tech runners completing the course
in 19:09 and 19:13, respectively...[more]

is quickly establishing himself and one of the top
runners in the state for the Cerritos College men's
cross country team. At the Crystal Springs
Invitational in San Mateo this
past weekend, Clifford-Sorenson won his third
consecutive race, which helped propel the Falcons to the
team championship, beating out 13 other teams. He
finished the race in 21:15, which was 22 seconds ahead
of the second place runner, while Cerritos had two other

came in first place out of all the competitors at an
invitational. Two weeks ago, he placed first in the
Fresno Invitational and followed it with a first place
in the Riverside Invitational this past Saturday. As a
team, the Falcons placed second with 32 team points and
trailed only Riverside College, who had 24 team points.
The other teams who competed were Santiago Canyon
College, who had 85 team points and Santa Barbara City

continued to show why he is one of the top runners in
the state this year after he beat out 200 others at the
Fresno Invitational on Saturday. He handled the 4-mile
course in a time of 20:43 and beat out second place
runner Alfredo Coronado of College of the Canyons by two
seconds. The individual championship by
Clifford-Sorenson helped propel the Falcons into third
place in the team standings with 122 team points. Mt.
San Antonio won the team title with 97 points, followed
by Riverside, who had 105 points, as 21 schools competed

09.11.06 - Cerritos comes in fifth
place at SoCal Preview
In one of the most important
invitational's of the early season, the Cerritos College
men's cross country team turned in a fifth place
performance at the Southern California Preview Meet,
which was held at Antelope Valley College this past
weekend. The Falcons accumulated 160 team points and
were only beat out by South Coast Conference rival Mt.
San Antonio College (1st place; 109 team points),
Riverside College (136), Oxnard (141) and another
conference rival, East Los Angeles College, with 151
team points. Cerritos had 160 points to come in fifth
place out of the 29 schools that competed...[more]
09.04.06 - Falcons Men's Cross Country
open season against four-year teams
The Cerritos College men's cross country
got their season started by going up against eight
four-year schools, five community colleges and four open
teams at the Cal State Fullerton Invitational at Carbon
Canyon Park in Brea on Friday. The Falcons fared very
well and placed 10th out of the 18 teams, while they
were eighth out of the college teams. The only community
college team to defeat them was Mt. San Antonio College,
who was seventh among college teams. Cerritos amassed
283 team points overall from their five scoring runners,
